The greenhouse effect traps heat on the earth. We are emmiting co2 and other greenhouse gases causing the tempature to rise. Livestock produces 40% more greenhouse gases than global transportation. Yet we continue to raise and waste valuable resources on them. If we took all the food we used to feed them we could solve the world's hunger problem 14 times! A child dies of hunger every 2.3 seconds. REMEMBER to eat your food kids. Some people would do anything for that food.
Twenty four hours of deforestation causes as much pollution as 8 MILLION people flying from London to New York. More than 90% of the Amazon forest has been cleared since 1970 for livestock pasture.Nasa's climate reaserch scientists have measured that in the southern hemisphere 2009 was the hottest year ever recorded.18 months to halt deforestation to perserve life on this planet. 16 pounds of grain needed to produce 4 hamburgers.1.2 billion people suffer from hunger.Another 1.2 billion people are obese.Every year 760 million tonnes of grain fed to livestock.Grain fed to animals looses 90% of the original energy. Hectare of land produces lamb for 2 people And beef for 1 person. 19,737 liters of water needed to produce 1 pound of beef.That's enough to take a 7 minute shower everyday for an entire year. Livestock in the U.S produces 86,000 pounds of excrement per second. Another example of climate change is our current temperture, its a warm winter were having isnt it.
Back when pollution became a problem scientists perdicted the way it was we had until 2050 to change our ways, that is no longer true, we have gotten worse we have until 2022 that is only 10 years after that, the Earth will be beyond repair and natually destroy itself. What can we do?

So we know gobal warming is the warming of the earth caused by C O2 release from such things as cars, factories, and livestock as Andres mentioned. This global warming is causing the polar ice caps to melt and the ocean level to rise. The temperture of the earth is raising as well. We must stop global warming if the human race is to survive.
There are many things people can do to slow down global warming. Some are very easy and some require more thought, but everyone can do something and we all must.
Here are a few easy ideas anyone can try even kids.
1. Carpool or have and use less cars (tell your parents about this one)
2. Plant a tree or two
3. Grow a garden
4. Walk instead of using a car
5. Use public transportation
6. Reduce, reuse, recycle(3 r's)
The next idea is more difficult but with an adult,s help it can be done. It is a great idea called aquaponics.

Aquaponics is a method to grow food that actually slows global warming by recycling and reusing. This method combines aquaculture and hydroponics. From this method you can get 2 different food sources: fish(edible fish) and vegetabels. Aquaponics uses a cycle. The fish waste and fish food waste create nitrogen. But too much nitrogen kills the fish. So the pond water needs to be cleaned. This pond water can be used to water the plants that are growing above the pond. The plants use the fish waste and amonia from water as nutrition. After, the plant drips the water back to the pond but now the water is clean, it has been cleaned by the plants and growing media (sand and or gravel). The amonia has been converted to something else that is not toxic to the fish. That helps the fish because the amonia and waste would have eventually killed the fish. Then you can eat the fish and the vegatebles. So you are creating two food sources with the same water. Aquaponics is a very interesting concept. Maybe you would like to try it.
